Prepatory Basic Education and Training

FGU Trekanten is a prepatory basic education for students who are between 15 and 25 years old. We have five schools located in Vejle, Billund, Fredericia and Middelfart.

"A third way" towards education and job

FGU targets young people below the age of 25 who:

have not completed upper secondary education or vocational training
are unemployed or are not enrolled in any educations or training programme and may lack the qualifications for admission

The aim of FGU is to help students aquire educational, personal and social skills that enable them to enter the labour market or attend an upper secondary or vocational education and training.

Three programmes

At all our schools we offer three different programmes.

AGU - general basic education

The general basic education is an education in basic subjects such as Danish, mathematics and English with a view to practical applications on the curriculum for students who wish to proceed to general education or vocational education and training.

PGU - basic production education

The basic production education is a workshop-based education with a high level of practical learning for students who wish to proceed to vocational training or become better qualified to enter the labour market.

EGU - basic vocational education

The basic vocational education, which is mainly traineeship-based (2/3 traineeship, 1/3 school), is for students who will benefit in their progression from a workplace environment and who wish to continue their education and training or become better qualified to enter the labour market.

Erasmus+

Erasmus+ is EU’s programme to support education, training, youth, and sport in Europe. The 2021-2027 programme places a strong focus on social inclusion, the green and digital transitions, and promoting young people’s participation in democratic life.

FGU Trekanten participates in the programme to allow students and employees at the Prepatory Basic Education and Training the opportunity to see the world and gather inspiration. The aim is to increase the quality of vocational training in Europe, promote the exchange of experiences and good practice in teaching and make mobility stays a realistic option for more students.

Through the programme FGU Trekanten is offered mobility and cooperation opportunities in vocational education and training. This includes stays abroad for students and accompanying teachers (2-365 days) and supplementary education for employees.

Xarxa FP

FGU Trekanten is a member of Xarxa FP which is a European non-profit association gathering cities from 15 EU countries working together on VET mobility and innovation. We primarily exchange students and teachers with members of Xarxa FP.
